Our Story

The Tree of Life Wellness Center is a comfortable, accessible, harmonious, and professional space providing a wide range of wellness activities. After the global challenges of the past few years, the need to support health and wellness in our local community is more important than ever.

This is a Vashon Island community space for wellness practitioners of all kinds to offer care to their clients. With five treatment rooms (rentable yearly) and an event space (rentable hourly), we are dedicated to being a source of many different types of wellness activities, in support of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. See the FAQs page for our working definition of “wellness activities,” and check out the Services and Classes & Events > Calendar menu items to explore the ongoing activities happening at the center.

The original building on this site has been many things over the years, including a 1900’s-era home, Ramquist Realty, and a carpet store with an apartment in the back. Most recently, it housed Vashon Intuitive Arts, where a multitude of healing activities took place over a nine-year span, in a spirit of loving kindness. When siblings Dave and Danna Ramquist chose to sell the building in 2018, it provided an opportunity to bring some “healing” to the building itself, in the form of much-needed safety and stability renovations.

Anyone who’s driven past the building in the past few years knows what happened next. Basically, county intervention followed an initial building phase in which the project became larger than originally expected. And then when the pandemic slowed the permitting process to a crawl, the project stalled, for three long years.

On a personal note, my now-wife Morgan and I enjoyed the downtime, falling in love under the protective branches of the ancient apple tree next to the building!

And now it’s time for this building’s next iteration, the Tree of Life Wellness Center. Morgan and I welcome you to come check it out, and we’ll gladly show you what the space has to offer. Perhaps you’ll be inspired to rent a room or reserve an event space slot, to create your own wellness contributions to our community!

We look forward to meeting you and being of service,

Tim & Morgan

Special thanks go to Duane Didricksen and his crew (Ty, TJ, Caz, and Todd) for committing to this project and bringing it home with integrity and fine workmanship. We couldn’t have done it without you all! And Natalie Kosovac, thank you for the congruent signage that lends extra professionalism to the building. Also we are grateful for Diane Emerson’s skillful work on the gorgeous landscaping, bringing beauty to the whole neighborhood. Thank you to Susan Frith, who brought architectural stability to the project, and Darby DuComb, whose legal expertise helped us navigate the seas of permitting. And of course, an extra special thanks goes to Morgan Schaengold, the best wife and co-business owner I could ever ask for.
